My Brother’s Keeper (MBK Leadership Circle) are responsible for building relationships with black Boys and young men in target zip code areas and promoting improved social mobility outcomes. Ambassadors participate in HomeGrown StL sponsored events, information sessions and meetings, and identify opportunities for collaboration involving key HomeGrown StL contacts and members.

Darius is a Florida native who traveled to St. Louis in 2012 to join Teach For America after graduating from the University of Florida. He spent two years in the classroom while obtaining his master’s degree in secondary education. He joined TFA to have a greater impact on the community. In St. Louis, he has been integral in supporting LGBTQ youth of color with Williams and Associates Inc. He is the co-coordinator of their Mpowerment group as well as an HIV+ support group facilitator. He seeks to become an executive director of a nonprofit and a local entrepreneur. He is devoted to community relations and social justice aimed at creating systems of equity and demolishing systems of oppression.

Tony Gunn Jr. is a multi-talented St. Louis, Mo. native, father, entrepreneur, author, motivational speaker, comedian, recording artist and senior honor student at Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. majoring in Computer Information Systems. In a city where murder and crime are consistently among the highest, this young man has chosen to be a leader and take his destiny into his own hands.
